Saving Weak Concrete Buildings from the Inside
Older hotels and commercial buildings in India are typically constructed on basic concrete and rebar (sariya) foundations. Over time, these buildings begin to weaken, crack, or even lean. Before they reach the point of collapse, Suraj Fabricators provides an internal rescue solution.
Instead of ugly external supports, our expert teams work inside the building. We apply heavy-duty thick metal sections—massive steel columns and I-beams—tightly alongside the internal walls and pillars. By keeping the structural strengthening inside, we ensure the metal remains hidden behind interior finishes, preserving the beautiful exterior look of your hotel while making the building incredibly strong and safe.

The Anatomy of Internal Retrofitting
How exactly do we strengthen a 5-story hotel without destroying its aesthetic appeal? Here is a breakdown of our internal execution process:
- Internal Pillar Jacketing: Heavy steel plates tightly bolted around existing concrete columns inside the rooms.
- Concealed Roof Beams: Thick metal I-beams installed flush against the ceiling slab, easily hidden by false ceilings.
- Base Plate Anchoring: Massive chemical anchors drilled deep into the existing internal floor foundation to transfer loads.
- Zero Exterior Damage: The facade remains completely untouched, allowing hotels to maintain their premium curb appeal.
The Strengthening Blueprint
Retrofitting requires exact calculations and careful execution to ensure the existing structure is safely supported during upgrades.
Structural Audit & NDT
Comprehensive Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) to assess the current strength of concrete and steel components.
Load Calculation
Advanced structural engineering analysis to determine the exact reinforcement required for new machinery or seismic codes.
Custom Fabrication
Manufacturing precision steel plates, brackets, and jackets in our facility tailored to your building's exact dimensions.
Precision Installation
Expert on-site execution utilizing high-strength epoxy grouts, welding, and wrapping with minimal operational downtime.
Retrofitting Applications
Multi-Story Hotel Strengthening
When an old 4 or 5-story hotel building in Uttar Pradesh starts showing structural cracks, completely rebuilding is often not an option. We install a thick steel structural framework entirely from the inside.
This heavy internal metal framework physically holds up the ceiling slabs and takes the load off the weak pillars. Once the steel is installed, it can be easily boxed in with gypsum or wood, completely hiding the retrofitting work while securing the building.
Heavy Section Pillar Jacketing
Old brick and concrete pillars often suffer from 'spalling', where the concrete falls off and exposes rusted sariya inside. We resolve this permanently.
By tightly encasing the old pillar with thick metal sheets and heavy steel angles, we effectively create a brand-new metal pillar around the old one, completely restoring its load-bearing capacity and seismic resilience.
Strengthening Techniques
Metal Column Jacketing
Encasing old, cracking concrete pillars with extremely thick steel plates and heavy metal sections to stop them from collapsing under load.
CFRP Wrapping
Application of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers to beams and slabs, providing immense tensile strength without adding dead weight.
Micro-Concreting
Using specialized, high-strength, non-shrink grouts to repair honeycombing, spalled concrete, and reinforce aging structural joints.
Foundation Underpinning
Strengthening the base foundation of a building to support added floors or stabilize structures affected by soil settlement.
Material & Structural Specifications
Successful retrofitting relies entirely on the quality of bonding agents and reinforcement materials. We use only certified, high-performance structural composites and steel grades.
Heavy Metal Sections
We use exceptionally thick IS 2062 Grade steel beams, columns, and channels to physically hold the weight of aging 4-5 story structures.
Structural Adhesives
Heavy-duty epoxy resins and thixotropic grouts used to ensure a perfect monolithic bond between old concrete and new steel.
Carbon Fiber (CFRP)
Ultra-lightweight composite materials offering tensile strength up to 10 times higher than standard steel reinforcement.
Anti-Corrosive Coatings
All exposed steel retrofits are treated with zinc-rich epoxy primers and polyurethane topcoats to prevent future rust degradation.
